Work

I’ve got a question for you all. People in my IRL and quite frankly my online friends too, seem to just say “it is what it is” and I disagree with it but I want your views So in life they say you’re guaranteed two things, death and taxes. Total SIGH at that but whatever. Well, isn’t it awfully depressing how we’ll have to work and WORK AND WORK for the REST of our lives. Genuinely until we’re too old/sickly to do so? I understand everyone having a part in society but it just makes me sick to think about. Some start work as young as 16, truth be told I’m 18 and never had a proper job before but I’m looking around now for the first time By the time you do get to stop working you’ll be too old and fragile to actually do want you want to do. You dedicate you life to someone else’s pocket, that’s the case with most people, unless you get a stroke of luck and manage to start something up for yourself, even then, there will be a higher up benefiting from your work It’s just awfully sad to me, we waste our youth, what they call “good days” working and let me not even mention how the retirement age gets higher and higher as the years pass We all need purpose, of course we do. That’s just how we are really, we need something other than ourselves to go on for I feel, but that’s just in my opinion I suppose Yeah, that’s all. I just can’t imagine working 5/6 days a week and then enjoying myself for that one day and then going back to work I don’t know
