43dI don’t get why people hate the song Blurred Lines so much for its rape-y undertones, but not One More Night by maroon 5. Blurred lines actively encourages the woman the singer is flirting with to make the first move with the line “go ahead get at me”, but One More Night literally has the lyrics “try to tell you no but my body keeps on telling you yes, try to tell you stop but your lipstick got me so out of breath”. I don’t care how your body is reacting, if you say no she has to stop. Makes me wonder if One More Night would’ve been lambasted if the singer was a woman being assaulted by a man. Makes me wonder if anyone would give a fuck about blurred lines’ lyrics if the genders were swapped. Male SA victims are so overlooked it’s disgusting.
